The strategy the proposed service will take for penetrating the personalized music recommendation market will be to create an entertaining, addictive, and free direct and indirect similar listener network on the internet, integrated with a strong multi-faceted personalized music recommendation engine as a mini-player into all major personal media players (such as ITunes, Winamp, and Windows Media Player). A superior social networking aspect will allow the service to expand rapidly because users will want to invite and encourage their friends to join the service. From this base, improvements will be made to the recommendation engine, the social network will be integrated into larger social networking sites (such as Facebook and/or MySpace), personalized streaming internet radio will be integrated into the mini-player, and partnerships will be sought for integrating the service into portable devices. Thus, the service will target all four device markets with a powerful, streamline, easy-to-use, and addictive personalized music recommendation service.
