The proposed music recommendation service will aim to provide users with personalized recommendations, no matter how they choose to listen to their music. Therefore, the service will cater both streamed and stored audio, on both personal computers and portable devices.

Methods

The proposed service will feature streaming personalized internet radio, which can be delivered to the user's personal computer and which will be integrated into portable devices by striking marketing deals with device manufacturers. The service will also feature a mini player that sits in popular music applications, such as ITunes, Winamp, and Windows Media Player, and generates playlists and recommendations for the user. Similar miniplayers are featured by Audiobaba and MusicStrands. Integration with stored content on portable devices will also be a target, though this will most likely come later in product development.
